With Lake Havasu in the rear view mirror, we drove towards our next adventure. We stopped for the night at Saddle Mountain outside Tonopah, AZ to hike. As has become routine, I filled my hydration pack with water, grabbed a light jacket, and started hiking. The trail was rocky and narrow as it crossed several washes and climbed steadily towards a rocky saddle. I crested one side then traversed and crested another. The trail I took skirted around the backside and it’s here where I just stood and gazed in awe, taking deep breaths of sweet smelling evening air. The desert was greener than I thought it would be with flowers, bushes and trees blooming. I spent quite awhile taking pictures and enjoying my time before heading back down.
