Seven Falls Via Bear Canyon Hike
While the weather was extra warm (sorry to my winter climate readers, it was 85), we decided to hike to Seven Falls to take advantage of the swimming hole and water crossings. This hike is around 7 miles and I’d rank it intermediate plus due to the deep, sometimes rushing water crossings and route finding. As usual, spectacular views along the climb and then sheer insanity at the top. I’m not sure I’ve seen such a pretty spot before. I immediately waded to the edge of the bottom pool, and dove in.
50 Year Trail Mountain Biking
About 17 years ago, give or take, Derek and I rode part of the 50 Year Trail. We mountain biked more of it the other day. We parked by Catalina State Park and rode the section from there heading North and added on some Golder Ranch trails at the top and rode back. The trail starts off wide and easy right out of the campground but ramps up the fun factor fairly soon. The single-track is mostly rocky, but bouldery rocks, not sharp jagged lava rock like Bend had. The trails winds along under the shadow of the mountains and we had to stop several times to take pictures and enjoy the beauty.
We sure enjoying the spring beauty here in Tucson.
