HELLO Durango! We spent the first two days of riding in Durango on the Horse Gulch and Telegraph Canyon trails network. Day 1 was 18.5 miles with 2,500 feet of climbing, and day 2 was 21 miles with 2,600 feet of climbing. There are so many fun trails in this network and you can put together a lot of cool loops. I really liked the climb up Skyline Trail and the descents on Extended Ridge, Anasazi, and Sugar.
Off the bike we met up with an old friend for drinks at a couple of the breweries in downtown Durango. We checked out Carver’s Brewing and Animas Brewing Company. I’d been to Carver’s before; this isn’t our first trip to Durango. But, I was last here in 2010 to visit my friend Matt who owns Hermosa Tours, so it’s been awhile.
We’ve always really liked Durango and still do. We were first here back in 2002 I think when we were racing the now defunct NORBA National Mountain Bike series up at Purgatory. The town has definitely grown since then!
We can’t wait for more adventures here!
I was checking out Durango on the Internet. Great pictures and a cool place.
