Teocalli Ridge Loop & Trail Building

Heidi Faller Posted onAugust 26, 2019October 4, 2019 Colorado, Crested Butte, Mountain Biking 3 Comments 843 Views

Teocalli Ridge Loop is no joke. To get to it you have to climb a gravel road up to a singletrack and then, in your easiest gear, grind up to the ridge. It’s steep, real steep. It’s loose and rooty in sections, but it’s gorgeous. Moto’s chew it up quite a bit towards the top as well. Once up there though, the views of the surrounding mountains are big!

The downhill was, once again, worth it. If I block out the suffering of the climb and just focus on the DH, it’s awesome. It’s really steep in spots and I can’t imagine anything other than a full suspension bike with all the roots and rocks.

Trail Building

We saw a flyer for Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association’s annual work party and campout. It was just down the road from where we are camped, so on our day off we went and helped build a trail! After working all day we enjoyed dinner catered by Rim Tours and beer from Ska Brewing. Great day.

…but you had to work to earn it. Thumbs up Heidi. We ALWAYS have to give back to what we use. That’s why I’m a trailbuilder.
