For our last ride in the area we went the biggest. We rode up Barlow Road to Bolem Pass, rode the Colorado Trail up to Blackhawk Pass, descended down down down and then climbed out on Hermosa Park Road back up and over Bolem Pass. When I say road, don’t think smooth surface. These roads were nasty rock conglomerations. 31.6 miles and 5,480′ of climbing!!!!!
This section of the CT was sooo much fun, really, like most of the other sections. The wind was whipping up on Blackhawk Pass so we didn’t hang out up there long.
The aspen trees and many of the plants are starting to turn yellow and orange. We’re excited for fall colors in Colorado! We will miss our beautiful campspot, but need to get down to lower/warmer elevations.
