Dona Ana Trails
The BLM’s Doña Ana Trails in Las Cruces are worth it if you’re in the area, which we are. Derek and I rode 17 miles with 1666′ of climbing. From the parking area the trail climbs ever so slightly but is generally very fast. We rode almost all the trails out there and my favorite was Figure 8. It’s pleasingly rough with rocks everywhere. These trails are flowy and super fun I just wish there were more!
Soledad Canyon
With time to get a quick hike in, we headed to Soledad Canyon. Our hike was only 4.5 miles and very fast. We hiked out to a waterfall which was only a trickle this time of year, and then looped around and up to the the park boundary. At the no trespassing, unexploded ordinance sign we smartly turned around. Bummer, we were hoping to get deeper in the canyon.
The other day we celebrated out one year nomad-iversary. We left Bend last January 11 and since then we have seen and done so much. Cheers to another year!
