Another week in Bend is in the books! Before the weather turned too frigid we rode a couple of our old higher elevation favorites and were not disappointed.
On a cloudy cool day we rode Charlton/Waldo/Twins loop which is rewarding for it’s beauty. The campgrounds around Waldo are closed, and it was a weekday so we didn’t see any other riders. Recent moisture made The Twins ride extra awesome because the normal loose cinder section to get to the view point was almost firm. All smiles.
Fall exists in Bend, just not to the magnitude of some places. I was cold, but we rode Swampy/South Fork/North Fork/ Flagline on a Tuesday to minimize the traffic to the falls. Well, apparently that isn’t possible anymore as we saw probably 20 hikers on the trail. Lots of folks most have had the same thought! I like this loop for it’s double downhill fun on South Fork and Flagline. Two thumbs up!
