We left Nevada and found our next 2 week spot by St. George, Utah. I think the last time I rode the Santa Clara River Reserve Trails in St. George may have been 2008. We rode different trails this time and had an awesome time. From the Cove Wash Trailhead, we set out on a loop of Barrel Roll, Sidewinder and Rim Rock Rock Loop. All the trails featured rocky singletrack with a few what I’d consider advanced rock gardens for cross country style riding. The canyon and mountain views are the biggest draw in this area with layers of white, red and green.
The Santa Clara River Reserve is comprised of 6,500 acres of public lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management. The reserve protects open space, archaeological and natural resources, and recreational opportunities important to local communities and tourists.
The area has changed a lot. Development is taking over a lot of the area with brand new houses and condos springing up everywhere. I hope this preserve is forever protected because it would be a shame to pave over this trail network.
Greater Moe’s Valley Area in Red Cliffs Desert Reserve (includes Moe’s Valley, Green Valley Gap, Bearclaw Poppy trail, and Zen trail) is under threat with development plans. Read about it here and sign the petition.

Oh wow, that would be a terrible loss. I signed the petition and hope our readers will to. Thanks!
