Phil’s World is a magnificent trail network in Cortez, Colorado! We have ridden here quite a few times and it’s always fun. I like that there are different trailheads to start from and this time we started from Cash Canyon TH which is further into the network.
Most of the trails out here are one directional to enhance the solitary feel. I like this because there are less encounters with stopping for right of way riders (not that there are many riders out here). We rode one afternoon and didn’t come across anyone else since we were further out in the network. The trails heading north from this trailhead are more challenging so aren’t used as often. In fact, one of the trail names is Seldom Seen.
Hayduke Crossing trail is black diamond for the exposure and technicality of the rock sections down into and up out of the canyon so if that isn’t your thing, avoid this trail. However, the technicality is what keeps people away plus, the view in the canyon are so darn interesting. Here are a few pictures from some rides.
