Turquoise Lake is a 1,788 acre boot shaped reservoir in Leadville, Colorado and was the start of our last ride in the area. We rode singletrack around the lake, then hopped on a gravel road and climbed to Sugarloaf Pass. When the Colorado Trail crossed it, we took that back down to the lake and retraced our route around to the car. 25 miles and 2,284′ of climbing.
The lake sits at 9800′ and is beautiful with dramatic mountains surrounding it. We saw lots of people fishing and enjoying the beachy areas. We’ll be sad to leave our home for the last couple weeks, but there is always another place to check out and ride.
On to Crested Butte!
