Three days, three rides. We’re on our gravel bikes these days and exploring everything we can right from our trailer. It’s nice to just get on and go. We made it up to 9000′ on our ride today before we hit snow and mud and turned around. It was 26 miles with 2300′ of climbing and I’m happy to report that the high altitude didn’t seem to really effect us. Last fall we were in this area and rode singletrack up to the same place we rode on roads to yesterday. It was fun to see it with snowy vistas this time as opposed to the fall colors last time.
Derek has been doing a fantastic job of keeping our lockdown dinners exciting. We had a baked ziti with spinach the other night, Middle Eastern vibed baked lentil balls with couscous and roasted carrots another night, and tonight we’re having a bean soup with Mexican dumplings. So I’m thankful that we stocked up on groceries and I have a professional chef to keep me well fed. There isn’t going to be in Top Ramen in this trailer!
I’ve said it before, life isn’t too different under shelter in place orders for us. We just won’t be going to some places that were on our list to check out. I did see that San Angelo, the place we left a week or so ago, just had a giant hail storm that caused significant damage in the area. Phew! Dodged that one.
The weather for the next couple days looks blustery so it’s time to finish our state tax return. Yay!
