Our time here in Mancos is nearing the end. BUT, we had one more ride to check off our list and it was mighty. I’ll call this the Echo Basin lollipop. This incredibly scenic gravel ride was 34 miles with a whopping 3907′ of climbing.
The lollipop part of this ride was challenging in that the gravel/dirt/rock road is rough in spots and the going is slow. As you must know by now, we don’t mind lots of climbing when it gets us off the beaten path and back into the beautiful forests and mountains. A good part about most of the gravel rides here is that the last part of the ride usually has a substantial downhill. I hit a speed of 50 mph!
I had a problem with my mountain bike shoes and thankfully, Giro covered them under warranty and shipped me a new pair. Riding can continue!
