It was getting a bit toasty down in the valley so we’ve moved north to Prescott for the week. Our new boondocking spot is up around 6400′ with highs forecasted in the 70’s. We were last in Prescott back in 2015 when we camped and rode with some friends for a couple days so it’s good to get back.
For our first day we rode from camp and did a great loop of 18 miles. The area is a maze of trails with something like 76 miles to explore so you can put together really whatever distance you want. Using the Trailforks app is your best bet although there are signs with maps at some of the intersections.
The riding is a mixture of technical rock gardens, and fast swoopy rolling trail. We were impressed with everything we rode and it was fun to check out more new trails. It’s very foresty up here with ponderosa, oak, manzanita, and juniper. Even at our campspot we have trees all around though the trailer is in a nice sunny spot so we can soak up the solar for our power.
