It’s always nice to be camped on trail networks because driving isn’t involved. We rode out and back from camp to Wolverton Mountain and then all the way back. The ride was 21 miles with 2568′ of climbing.
We started off riding Honeybucket Trail out to Cold Springs Trail and then Aspen Creek. There was a bit of water flowing in all these creeks remarkably. Honeybucket is a fun little trail with lots of rock features here and there to tackle. Cold Springs and Aspen both wind around with lots of high speed sections. Our goal was Wolverton Mtn and we took the time to go the short distance to the lookout. Looking down on Prescott, we admired the view and then off we went down Wolverton. This trail is such a blast. It’s a long descent of about 5 miles as you wind down to the highway below.
Since this was an out and back, at the bottom we turned around and climbed all the way back up and then retraced our way to camp. It was a fairly warm day and we had well deserved beers afterwards.
