After a full two weeks in Pinetop, AZ it was time to move on. But first, I did an abbreviated Blue Ridge hike and we walked the Meadow Trail to see all the scarecrows.
The whole Blue Ridge Loop was farther than I wanted to hike so I shortcut it. The trail is in an active timber harvest area so the first part was littered with branches and tree debris but I was able to step over or walk around it all. This trail heads up through the oak and pine forest on a pretty rocky trail. Certain stretches are heavily shaded and others pop out into more sparse vegetation. I hiked off trail a bit to get to the true summit where I took a break and headed back down.
After picking up groceries for the next two weeks, we stopped and hiked the Meadow Trail in Show Low so we could see all the scarecrow entries in the contest. Each has a number and you vote for your favorite. That’s fun, creative, and festive! There were some really great entries!!!!
