Wow, it’s been awhile! I kind of slacked off with updating all our goings on this winter. I’ll try to trickle in the updates over the next week.
As usual, we moseyed down south for the winter and are in Tucson visiting family. It’s nice because there is space in the yard for our trailer and we have plenty of ride options. I won’t bore you with pictures of all of them but I do want to give a round of applause for The Loop.
I’ve posted about “The Loop” before but if you missed those, the Loop is a paved 2 lane bike path that circles the city. There are a few off chutes here and there as well – one up to Catalina State Park, one up to Marana, and one south as well. No cars are allowed and there are plenty of places to stop or hop off and get snacks, water, or whatever. Fantastic creation and I wish every city had this. Hikers, walkers, runners, rollerbladers, you name it we have seen it.
There are mountain biking options almost each direction you go in town, though we do have to drive at least 25 minutes to get to most. Here are some pics of a ride we recently did at Hohokum Trail and what they call the Raceway. This has the best example of a fast flowy trail that Tucson has.
