I think this Ridgeline Trail ride is in the top 3 of my favorite Tucson rides. It’s a bit more remote then a lot of the trails around town so we usually don’t see anyone when we’re out here.
What I like about this loop is that it’s classic desert riding with lots of big views. The terrain has some good climbs which lead to good descents! I would classify this ride as intermediate to advanced for some of the technical features and steep climbs. Also, you need some serious cacti dodging skills in parts. Don’t lean too far into corners!
I didn’t get any pictures because we weren’t fast enough to capture it, but a pack of about 6-7 javelina crossed the trail in front of us and scattered into the wash. Looking back at these pictures I can see that I’m basically camouflaged in my yellow jersey.
