The beginning

Okay, so this is the first post on our blog. Where do I start? I thought about telling you a little bit about us, but chances are if you are reading this post you already know us. Of course there is the chance that you discovered our blog down the road and are the type to scroll back to the beginning and don’t know us. In that case you can check out our about us page to get to know us. Anyway, I guess the best place to start is to go over the reason for the blog.

Our biggest passions in life are traveling, mountain biking, camping and craft beer along with just generally being outdoors and exploring our world. We definitely get in a lot of mountain biking, camping and craft beer throughout the year, but work really gets in the way of getting to do too much traveling and exploring our world. So a while back we hatched a plan to eliminate, or at least delay or scale down the one thing we are not passionate about, work. After years of preparing we are just about set to put our plan into action. The plan is to swap out our current truck and travel trailer for a little larger model that is better suited for full time living and hit the road exploring America.

Since wandering around America aimlessly might make us seem a little crazy, we have also decided to give ourselves a little challenge or quest. It isn’t really a hard challenge, but it gives us something to shoot for. Our quest is to do a mountain bike ride, plus drink a craft beer at the brewery that brewed it, and camp overnight in all 48 states in the continental US. Chances are we will do a lot more then one of each of these things in most states, but one of each is all that is required to complete our quest.

Even though, at least as of the writing of this post, we are still about a year away from quitting our jobs and hitting the road, I thought it would be a good idea to start the blog early to cover our experience of shifting from normal life to living full time in an RV. So whether you are friends or family who are reading this to keep up with what we are up to, or you came across this blog related to one of our posts, I hope you enjoy it and our adventures. I also hope that over time these blog posts get easier to write and I get better at writing them.
