Wow, time is flying. We haven’t done a post in forever. Never fear, we’ve been busy riding and hiking and I’m even swimming at a local pool!
There were a couple days in August where we got drifting smoke from a fire by Rico, Colorado and we had to play the AQI map game to pick where to ride. We headed to Durango to ride Twin Buttes and had fun, as usual. This is a short, quick network that gets you huffing and puffing. The mileage to climbing ratio is perfect as long as you can stomach the first few switchbacks outta the gate.
For some excitement, a bear was spotted several times in the area around our trailer. We keep a pretty clean site, but it’s a reminder when you’re out in nature (or in some cases just at home!), to practice bear safety and be alert.
