Rialto Beach is another pretty popular beach hike on the Olympic Peninsula by Forks because at low tide you get to hike through a hole or passageway in the rock to get to tidepools on the other side. The weather for a few days wasn’t looking great with rain in the forecast but our raincoats did their job.
This hike does have a limiting obstacle that we somehow failed to get a picture of. You have to either jungle gym climb over a giant pile of driftwood or wade through a small swift river. Everyone I saw chose the driftwood pile. It’s fine if you go slow and aren’t deathly afraid of heights. The rest of the hike is walking along the beach and checking stuff out. The sea life in the tidepools at Hole-in-the-Wall is top notch and we spent quite a bit of time out there looking around. Even in the rain.
