After spending the summer in Colorado, we’re now in Camp Verde, AZ for a week before we visit family in Tucson for Christmas. It’s sunny, warm, and extremely quiet in our dispersed camping spot. We see a couple cars come by each day but that’s it. We have a short lapse in our health insurance so we’re trying to be safe by not riding any extreme mountain bike trails. In fact, our first activity was a nice hike in the area. Copper Canyon was just under 5 miles and simple to follow.
The best part of this hike is the spring fed waterfall tucked back into one of the side canyons. The canyons themself were my favorite because it’s so different to be hiking through the desert and then come across cottonwoods, sycamores, and water!
After our hike we stopped in at Verde Brewing Company for a refreshing beer. This place is a quaint little spot nestled into the corner of an industrial park. They have a good variety of beers on tap so something for everyone. We had an IPA, a Scottish Ale, a dark lager, and a bourbon stout. See what I mean, something for everyone!
