Dry Hill is a sweet trail network right in Port Angeles, Washington. These are all purpose built on Washington Department of Natural Resources land and VERY well done. With almost 60 miles of trail and more being added each year, it’s paradise. The trails are largely enduro oriented with very steep and technical sections on a lot of the trails. This is the birthplace of the NW Cup Mountain Bike Downhill series but cross country geeks like me and Derek can still have fun on the easier trails.
We did a ride encompassing the uphill climbing trails of Uproot, Middle Uproot and Upper Uproot. This is a pretty steady climb that gets you to the top of the hill in a few miles. The trails are deeply shaded as they wind through the woods with dappled sunlight and peekaboo views of the water in places.. At the top we picked our downhill route and off we went. We chose intermediate trails for our descent and even then, some were pretty steep!
