We are spending our summer around a lot of water. Rivers, lakes, and the ocean are all close by and we’re taking full advantage of everything the area has to offer. The other day we went to Trinidad, CA and did what I call a mixed surface ride. Part road, part gravel but all beautiful.
Spectacular weather greeted us for this out and back to Sue-meg State Park. On September 30, 2021, the California State Park and Recreation Commission voted unanimously to change the name of Patrick’s Point State Park to Sue-meg State Park. The name “Sue-meg” has been used by Yurok people to describe the area where the park is now located since time immemorial. It’s a beautiful area with Sitka spruce, red alder, Douglas-fir, western hemlock, and shore pine We even passed through a grove of eucalyptus.
The beach views were the star of this ride and the sun and warm temps made this a great day at the beach.
