On our way up through Oregon we stopped to visit a very good friend in Eugene, OR. (GO DUCKS!) We camped along the McKenzie River in Armitage Park for a couple nights. This is a great little campground with wide spaced out private spots.
The evening we arrived and the following morning we walked along the river and through the park. So many trees! Big leaf maple, Black cottonwood, Douglas-fir, Oregon ash, Western red alder, and giant Western red cedar. All this with the river flowing right past. What a cool place.
Our friend lives pretty close to the bike path network that runs around the University area and after a delicious homemade lunch we rode bikes around to Cold Fire Brewery. I kid you not, after locking up our bikes we walked in to see friends from Bend that were in town for a wedding. We all got a table together and had a great time catching up over delicious beer. Small world!
Cheers to more adventures.
