The hike out to Eagle Cliff House was off the beaten path. We didn’t see any other hikers out there. It helps that it was a weekday – but also, since we are able to spend so much time in one area, we are able to do all the less popular hikes in an area as well. This was a gloomy weather day and barely 60 degrees – hence my jacket and gloves at the start. haha
I don’t know why this isn’t a more popular hike. It was awesome! In classic Joshua Tree form, there were some sandy sections, a lot of rock sections, an old mine area, great views, and Joshua Trees. The Eagle Cliff House is at the end of a trail spur and was once home to the miners who worked in this are. It’s nestled between and in a bunch of giant boulders. The vibe inside is hard to explain. It’s almost like it was inspiring.
We ate our sandwiches on the cliff outside before continuing back and over to the Lucky Boy Ghost Town for some extra hiking. There isn’t much of that left and we were kind of disappointed.
